The Wellspring Approach:
A Compassionate Path to Wellness

Our approach is relational, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive. We believe healing happens in safe, attuned connection and within the context of your unique story, identity, and lived experience.

We integrate attachment-focused insight with evidence-based strategies to support emotional regulation, self-understanding, and healthier relationships. Treatment is individualized, collaborative, and grounded in respect, cultural humility, and empowerment.

Our goal is not only symptom relief, but meaningful, lasting growth.

We believe healing and growth happen in relationship — whether in individual therapy, couples work, group settings, or through thoughtful psychological assessment and consultation. Our experiences shape how we see ourselves, connect with others, and navigate the world. When those experiences include stress, loss, or trauma, patterns can develop that affect emotional regulation, identity, and relationships.

Through culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care, we create a space that is safe, collaborative, and grounded in respect. Whether you are seeking support, clarity through testing, or professional consultation, our work is guided by the belief that insight, skill-building, and attuned connection can foster meaningful and lasting change.

What to Expect

A Safe and Respectful Space

Therapy is collaborative. You can expect a space grounded in safety, cultural sensitivity, and nonjudgment.

Thoughtful Exploration

We will explore how past and present experiences shape your emotions, relationships, and self-understanding. Insight and practical tools are integrated throughout the process.

Gradual, Meaningful Change

Growth takes time. Some sessions may feel reflective and exploratory; others may focus on skill-building or problem-solving. Together, we work at a pace that feels supportive and sustainable.

Clear Communication

You are encouraged to ask questions, share feedback, and participate actively in your care. Therapy works best when it is a partnership.

How Sessions Work

Getting Started

We begin with a free consultation to briefly discuss your concerns, answer questions, and determine whether we are a good fit. If you decide to move forward, we schedule an initial intake appointment.

Format

We currently provide secure virtual sessions throughout Virginia and Illinois. In-person services in Newport News, Virginia are planned for the future.

Initial Appointment

The first session focuses on understanding your history, current concerns, goals, and relevant relational or cultural factors. This helps guide an individualized treatment or assessment plan tailored to your needs.

Consultations will vary by case.
